I have been teaching since 2004. Prior to entering education I worked in the transportation industry for logistics and railroad companies. I first started teaching at Glen Este high school in Ohio before moving to Conner Middle school for the past 19 years. This is my first year at Ignite and I love the philosophy and the style at Ignite! I am married to a fellow educator and we have 5 kids ranging from college age to 4th grade. When not teaching, I coach high school soccer for Dayton High School and during the winter I officiate hockey and help with my sons hockey team.

I am in my 20th year of teaching. I taught in higher education for 17 years and have been at Ignite for 2. I attended Oberlin College, Middlebury College, and THE Ohio State University. I have two children and two dogs, love to read, watch sports, and travel.

Mr. Hartline is entering his 7th year of teaching in Engineering and Engineering Technology.
During that time he also has outfitted, operated, and maintained an advanced fabrication lab for the school. Prior to teaching, he has 24 years of experience as a Machine Design and Manufacturing Engineer in the factory automation industry. Additionally, Mr. Hartline served as a Combat Engineer for a six-year enlistment in the Army National Guard and obtained the rank of Sergeant. He also served 15 years as a volunteer firefighter and EMT with 3 of those years served as full-time. Mr. Hartline competed twice on TLC’s ”JUNKYARD MEGA-WARS” TV show as ”Crusher” and was Champion of the Ohio State Fair Demolition Derby.

I have been teaching since 2008. Before entering public education, I was a lab assistant at the University of Louisville and worked as tutoring manager for the UL Reach Center. I started my high school science and chemistry career at Doss High School in Jefferson County, then transferred to Grant County High School for five years, followed by Conner Middle School for four years. When Ignite was being built, I knew that my teaching style and philosophy would match greatly and I have been at Ignite since the beginning!
